One of the biggest challenges that we face today is not repaying evil for evil. I’ve struggled with it my whole life. The high road is not crowded, my friends. It takes some serious Godly strength to walk away from someone that has hurt you or betrayed you and to not retaliate in the process. Not only to not retaliate, but to change your heart to seek to do good. That’s where God comes in. He wants to help us.
I have plenty of regrets of repaying evil for evil when I wasn’t close to God. It may have made me feel better in the moment, but the long term is another story. I regret not being patient, I regret being unkind. I regret not kneeling down and asking God and Christ to give me strength and compassion to handle the hurtful situations that came my way.
The amazing thing that I’ve learned since I’ve been closer to God and Christ is compassion. I’m not perfect by any means- but I’ve noticed that if we let Christ into our hearts that we can see each other the way that Christ sees us. We can see each other with love, forgiveness and compassion.
I pray that God and Christ give us strength when we are triggered, when we are hurting and suffering by the actions of others. I pray that they help us to not repay the evil that comes our way. I pray that even if we are hurting inside, that we seek to do good, that we seek to bless others. Let Christ into your heart- He will help you in whatever you are facing. He can heal your broken heart and fill it with love and compassion.
Wishing you a beautiful day!
