Have you chosen to serve the Lord?
In Joshua, a declaration is given: Choose you this day whom ye will serve.
The Bible explains that the people of those times were worshiping false gods. Today, just as in those times of old, the worshiping of false gods is rampant. Some may not even realize what they are involved in- or what they are worshiping. I had to learn for myself (the hard way) that we should only worship God the Father, and his son, Jesus Christ.
The worship of material possessions, crystals, divination tools, angels, spirits, planets, animals, nature, ancestors, the universe, etc, is just not a good idea. It mocks God. We should be worshiping the creator, not the creations. I have lived the consequences of worshiping such things. I wouldn’t wish those consequences on anyone.
When you worship false gods, you are opening yourself up to the enemy. The enemy mocks God in all things- he presents himself to us under the pretenses of truth and light. He brings false promises of everything we’ve ever wanted. He lures us into traps of indifference and deception. He lures us into believing that God doesn’t exist, that Christ doesn’t exist, that sin doesn’t exist, and that he himself doesn’t exist. Such lies couldn’t be further from the truth.
It is the same today as it was thousands of years ago- we must choose this day whom we will serve. By selecting Jesus Christ, we are selecting His divine guidance for our lives. Guidance that is not based upon false promises- but upon honesty, sincerity, compassion, and genuine concern for our well being.
As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
Wishing you a beautiful day!
