Our Father in Heaven smiles upon us when we give to those in need. The gift doesn’t have to be money. Some of the most meaningful gifts we can give are time, service, attention, compassion, and love.
An old friend of mine stopped by to check on me this week. They took some time out of their busy day to see how I was doing. We chatted for a while, and I was able to talk about the horrible week that I’d been having. My friend listened to me and lightened my mood. They genuinely cared for my well being. It was kind and heartfelt. It really helped me so much. I’m so grateful that they reached out to me that day.
If we are able to alleviate the suffering of any person, we should always make an effort to do so.
If you suspect that someone is struggling- reach out to them. Pray for them. Ask God how you can help them. Listen to them. Give of your time and attention- and you will find great joy in your service. Just as Christ said- it is more blessed to give than to receive.
Wishing you a beautiful day!
