Elias and the rain.

I came upon this story in chapter five of James. I’d never heard of it before. It begins by saying that Elias was subject to temptations just like the rest of us. Regardless of the temptations he faced- he continued to remain steadfast in fervent, faithful prayer. Elias prayed earnestly that it might not rain. Because of his earnest prayers, the earth saw no rain for over three years.

Elias prayed again- this time for rain. Rain began to fall from the heavens. The earth brought forth her fruit, and was made beautiful again.

Our Father in Heaven hears our prayers. Whether that prayer is for clear skies or rain, comfort, guidance, or relief- all prayers are important to him.

When we are living close to God and obeying his commandments- our fervent prayers will availeth much, just as promised in the Bible. We should never underestimate the power of prayer in our lives.

Wishing you a beautiful day!
