I find that when I’m depressed, insecure, grieving, or ashamed, I tend to look down a lot. I’m so consumed with emotion that I shut myself off from the rest of the world. Do you find yourself doing this as well? I think it’s fair to say that looking down during difficult times is a common trait among the human race.
I was thinking about stories in the Bible that were applicable to the topic- and the woman taken in adultery came to mind. Surely she was looking down- tormented by guilt, sin, and shame. And, even at her worst, the Lord approached her. He spoke with her. She lifted her eyes to Jesus. She refocused her attention on the Lord- on his instructions and healing words.
When we are suffering through the trials of this life- it is so important to remember that the Lord wants us to look up.
We must stop focusing on the problem, and start focusing on the solution. Jesus is the answer. When we trust our lives to his care- he provides us with solutions that we never even thought were possible. He makes a way.
If you are in need of help, lift your eyes- because your help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.
Wishing you a beautiful day!
Thanks for the reminder ♥️
