Jesus was eating a meal with publicans(tax collectors) and sinners. The Pharisees witnessed this, and began to question the disciples, saying, “How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners?”
When Jesus heard them question his actions, he replied: “They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
We are all in need of the physician, the healer that is Jesus Christ. As we are all sinners, the Lord calls all of us to repentance. Repentance of our sins is a critical part in the process of spiritual growth.
When we go to the Lord in humble prayer, He forgives us of our sins. He heals our minds and hearts- removing that burden of sin. He strengthens us in our weakness. With His help, we will be able to make better decisions in our lives.
I believe that the Lord loves to watch us grow and progress into the people that we are supposed to become. If you’ve been carrying guilt or sin, please unburden yourself. Go to God and Christ in prayer. Let them help you. The forgiveness they offer is for everyone. Let them heal you.
Wishing you a beautiful day!
