Whom God corrects.

Has God ever stopped you from making a big mistake? Has He ever diverted the course of your life when it headed towards disaster?

Hebrews 12:6 reminds us that God chastens whom He loves. Just as a good parent would lovingly correct a child, our Father in Heaven corrects us when we are wrong to show us the error of our ways. He also chastens us so that we will turn our hearts against sin and back towards Him.
God’s corrections have a purpose in our lives. They lead to humility, repentance, change, and, ultimately, happiness.

The gospel of Jesus Christ provides us with salvation, eternal life, and freedom from sin. It also provides us with so much joy! It gives us that amazing grace and forgiveness that turns our entire lives around. God can take any seemingly hopeless situation and use it to refine us into brand new people who have learned from their mistakes. He creates beauty from the ashes.

While the chastening and changing will be painful, it will be worth it. We should not despise God for divinely intervening in our lives when we are in dire need of a change in direction. We must trust in His chastening and know that it is for our good. He loves us and wants us to be happy!

Love,

Amber
